Britain Hospital in capital Amaravati
Indo-UK Institute of Health of Britain will construct a 1000-bed Hospital, Health University and Research and Medical Equipment production units in the AP Capital Amaravati. An MOU will be signed by the AP Government with the UK Institute. An extent of Ac. 30 will be provided to the Institute for the purpose. Kings College Hospital of Britain and the Indo-UK Health Care Private Limited will establish jointly this Institute.
Electricity from Solid waste and Sewerage plant biogas
One company (Brio) of Mumbai has come forward to generate electricity from biogas produced through Sewerage Treatment Plant of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation. The electricity thus generated will be utilized by the Municipal Corporation for its own needs and the balance be sold away. The representatives of the company have met Municipal Commissioner and discussed the matter.
The Government of AP want to establish one plant in each district for generating electricity from solid waste. One company (Jindal) has proposed to establish one plant at Guntur, amaravati region. The representatives of the company have met the Municipal Commissioners of Guntur and Vijayawada at Municipal Office, Guntur. The solid waste from Guntur, Vijayawada, Chilakaluripeta, Narasaraopeta, Tenali, Mangalagiri, Sattenapalli, Ponnuru and Tadepalli Municipalities put together will be sufficient to run the plant. 1200 MTs of solid waste is required per day. The expenditure for establishment of the plant would be Rs. 150 crores. Initially, 15 mega watt of electricity will be generated per a day and from the second year onwards, its capacity will be enhanced to 35 mega watt. The District NEDCAP Officer, Guntur will act as Nodal Officer for the project and the AP TRANSCO will also play its role in this endeavour.
Achampeta to be Police Headquarters
AP Police Academy, Police Transport Training Institute, Greyhounds, Octopus Training Institutes, Firing Range, Officers, Staff quarters etcetera will be established at Achampeta (amaravati region) of Guntur district. Sri Surendra Babu, ADGP & Chief of Octopus has revealed this. An extent of Ac.2700 is proposed for construction of the buildings at one place. It is also proposed to de-notify the forest land there for the purpose.
Environmental study in capital Amaravati
The CRDA is collecting environmental basic data with respect to the capital Amaravati in the context of construction of the temporary Secretariat. The Environment wing of the CRDA will collect the data again after construction of the building and study it for identifying the lapses that may happen. In due course, Industries will be constructed and several habitations will be built. The environmental data will be taken into consideration and greenery will be developed accordingly in the area.
New Parking Bays at Gannavaram Air Port
10 Parking Bays will be developed immediately as a part of extension of the Gannavaram Air Port. Tenders in this regard are called for by the Air Port Authority of India (AAI.) The estimated cost is about Rs. 1.07 crores. The Runway of the Air Port is proposed to be expanded from 7500 feet to 15000 feet. An extent of Ac. 474 is proposed to be acquired for the purpose. Land pooling scheme is also made applicable to the said land. If the Runway is expanded as proposed, more parking bays would be necessary. Construction of a new terminal towards Kesarapalli has also commenced.
