The name Gudivada was derived from Gudi meaning Temple and Vada meaning town in telugu. Gudivada is a religiously diversified small town with many Hindu Temples and important Jain Tirth of Bhagawan Parshvanath located at market road.
Gudivada falls in the hot humid region of the country and it is at about 56 kilometres from Bay of Bengal. The hottest day falls in the month of May with shift to June ocassionally. The maximum and minimum temperatures observed are 50.3 oC and 09.8 oC respectively. NH 214 passes through the town and it connects Kathipudi and Pamarru.
