The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N Chandrababu Naidu had laid foundation stone for AIIMS at Mangalagiri today. The occasion was graced by several Union Ministers, including J.P Nadda, Venkaiah Naidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y.S Chowdary. The official foundation stone ceremony proceeded for AIIMS at the Mangalagiri of Guntur district.
This 960-bed facility is presently coming up on 200 acres at the cost of Rs.1,620 crore. The project that has been slated to be completed in two to three years, AIIMS will also make 100 medical seats available for aspiring medical students. The premier institute will be developed exhaustively to provide comprehensive facilities into teaching, research and patient care. AIIMS will conduct progressive teaching programs in medical and para-medical courses, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will award its own degrees to the alumni.
